A possible problem with outsourcing (continued)

It seems as though the company that makes Thomas the Train engines have had to recall about 1.5 million toys because they contained lead paint. The company is located in Shenzhen, strong hold supply point of Wal-Mart. But the company that owns (and profits from the sale of) Thomas is not taking any responsibility, nor is the US government taking any steps to inspect the safety of imported toys. Read today's Economix and tell us what you think about this globalized problem.

NOTE to 2007-2008 students: If you haven't already, register at the NY Times. It is free, and there will be quite a few links from this site to theirs. I will never require you to read a Times Select article. Only the free stuff.
